Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes!! Who doesn’t remember Beetlejuice from the ’80’s?? If you say his name three times he shows up!! “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice!!” ha ha…LOVED it!!
Beetlejuice came out in 1988 and was directed by none other, Tim Burton. It starred several of my favorite actors/actresses: Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin as the newly deceased young couple, Barbara and Adam Maitland, who need (or think they do!!) Beetlejuice’s help to scare away the obnoxious new homeowners, Charles and Delia Deetzes (Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Jones). They end up befriending the young daughter, Lydia, played by Winona Ryder, who can see the deceased couple and mistakenly says Beetlejuice three times in hopes of saving her new friends. Beetlejuice is interested only in Lydia and it takes the combined effort of both the Maitland’s and Lydia to defeat Beetlejuice.
The movie is one of my ‘comfort movies’ – meaning, I watch it when I am down or just wanna laugh. And laugh you will!! It has tons of silly antics and you just can’t help laughing at Beetlejuice – even when he’s inappropriate!!

I’ve been meaning to watch this movie with my older son. Plus, I haven’t seen it in a very long time. I have a 1980s B movie on my blog today, too.
